William Morris Gallery,
Artists in Residency 2019

For the first quarter of 2019 Priya Sundram and myself were the William Morris Gallery, Artists in Residence.

We proposed to consider the inspiration and influence of South Asian arts and crafts on Morris and his legacy, focussing on research in the gallery collection and its connection to the diverse community of Walthamstow. The outcomes from this project are ongoing and more detail will be available shortly.

The research and creative exploration conducted within the residency laid the foundation for the exhibition Distant Fellowship: Morris & South Asia (25th May – 18th September 2021).
